Fun For The Family In AustinThe first day of the Spring season has officially begun in Austin, Texas. There is a big variety of fun events for the whole family to enjoy in the city. Whether you and the kids are ready to start celebrating Easter or if you want to grab a blanket to watch a free movie outside, you have options. Fun Family Activities

  1. Families with children under the age of 5 are invited to the Northwest Recreation Center on Friday, March 23rd from 11:00am until 12:00pm for an Easter Egg Hunt! Entry is $3; bring your own basket for the hunt. The Easter Bunny will there to meet the kids!
  2. Teens are welcome to join the Teen Flashlight Egg Hunt at Dottie Jordan Recreation Center on Friday March 23rd from 6:30pm til 10:30pm to win some gift card prizes!
  3. Join the dancers of the McCallum Youth Dance Company as they share through movement the concept of the Butterfly Effect with live musical accompaniment including one original composition written just for this concert. Dance styles featured will include flamenco, modern, contemporary, and contemporary ballet. The concert with more than 50 dancers, runs for two nights, March 23rd and 24th at 7 pm at the McCallum Arts Center.
  4. Mobile Loaves & Fishes is hosting a free movie night at the Community First! Village.
    Grab chairs or a blanket to enjoy this special screening of Thor: Ragnarok. Come as early as 7pm to pick your spot, enjoy your favorite movie snacks from the Community Grille. The event is free, however a $5 donation would be highly appreciated, and can be made electronically when reserving a spot at this event. It is encouraged to support Community Grille rather than bringing outside food and drinks.
